Out and About

The villages can be reached by road from the Torpoint Ferry or the A38 via the Tamar Bridge. By cycle or on foot you can follow the South West Coastal Path from the Cremyl Ferry.
Towards Penlee wonderful coastal walks can take you on a circular route around the Rame Peninsular. In the opposite direction lies the spectacular estate and gardens of Mount Edgcumbe. From April to October a foot ferry operates from Cawsand Beach to the Mayflower Steps at the Barbican in Plymouth. Here visitors can explore the old part of Plymouth and even visit the Plymouth Gin Factory and the renowned Plymouth Aquarium. A short walk will take you to the brand new shopping centre.
At Whitsand Bay you can enjoy long walks along the beaches or the coastal path which weaves its way amongst many of the hilltop chalets which some people describe as being like " the hobbits in The Shire". Surfers enjoy their sport throughout the year and many families enjoy swimming, sunbathing and family outings at several points around the bay.
Between Cawsand and Whitsand Bay the shore line, cliffs and woodlands offer ornithologists and those interested in wild life the chance to study the many habitats that are home to a variety of birds and wildlife.
